Meet the newest member of the Washington Township Police Department, K-9 Bruno!
Born March 13, 2018 in Isselburg, Germany, and trained in Czechoslovakia in the Czech language, the Washington Township Police Department acquired the specially-trained German Shepherd in the summer of 2019. Learn more about Bruno's early years in his "own words" here! Bruno and Lieutenant Michael Thompson earned their K9 officer certification in June of 2019 following a six-week course. And just hours removed from his certification, Bruno logged his first arrests! |
Bruno not only works with Officer Thompson, but also lives with him at home. Bruno eats special dog food, along with yogurt and meats. He also takes a sinus medication to keep his nose in prime condition.
The duo are on duty every day during school hours. (Pictured: K-9 Officer Michael Thompson & Bruno meet students at Indian Lake Elementary School.) |
